Media Relations
The Fargo Police Department is committed to providing accurate information to the media in a timely manner. Every effort is made to meet media deadlines.
The department's Public Information Officer (PIO) provides timely and accurate information to the public in a variety of formats. Information is distributed to news media and accross our social channels, including Twitter, Facebook and Nextdoor.
Members of the media are encouraged to consult the department's Facebook page for information regarding significant events.
The PIO will notify members of the media when they are enroute to provide an on-scene, on-camera statement or advise members of the media when a statement will be forthcoming on the department’s social media channels.
Members of the media are encouraged to send media requests not pertaining to signficant incidents via email to Fargo Police PIO.
Routine media inquires received on weekends/holidays will be answered on the next business day.
In the event the PIO is out of the office for an extended period of time, members of the media will be notified as to who the temporary point of contact for media inquiries is. The PIO e-mail will continue to be used during those times to ensure continuity.
