North Dakota Collection

The Main Library in downtown Fargo is the location for Fargo Public Library’s North Dakota Collection which is located on the second floor near the Information Desk. The materials in this collections are about North Dakota or North Dakotans.

Volumes include: county histories, city histories, and North Dakota state histories. City directories for Fargo date back to 1881. High school yearbooks are on display for Fargo Central High School, Fargo North High School, and Fargo South High School. Magazines such as North Dakota History and North Dakota Outdoors are on the shelves as are documents for the Red River Diversion and Garrison Diversion.

The library has several volumes of Veteran’s registers. The ND Collection is available for use all the hours that the library is open (some materials that are more fragile must be retrieved from archival storage). The ND Collection does not circulate.
