Utility Bill Payment Information
Cash, checks and credit/debit cards are accepted when paying a utility bill for the City of Fargo. Below are methods of payment residents may use.
- Pay Online (24/7)
- Over the Telephone Automated System (24/7) by calling 701.401.9974.
- In Person at Fargo City Hall, 225 4th Street North, Fargo, ND 58102. Monday - Friday 7:45 a.m - 4:30 p.m, except legal holidays.
- By U.S. Mail, sent to: City of Fargo Water Department, PO Box 1066, Fargo, ND 58107. U.S. Mail is delivered to City Hall Monday - Friday, except legal holidays. The City is not responsible for any lost or delayed mail.
Auto Pay
Enroll in automatic bill payment, simply sign up online or complete a paper signup form.

Moving: Changing Utility Services
Residents can start and end their utility service online. To change the service, complete the online utility service form.
Please Note: If ending a service at one address and starting service at another address, customers will need to submit two separate forms.

- Who do I call if I have no water due to frozen water lines?
During normal day hours (M-F from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm) call the meter shop at 701.241.1468
After hours (weekends or after 4:00 pm) call 701.241.1469 and ask for the "on-call" meter person for frozen water lines.
Notice
The Fargo Municipal Code allows unpaid utility bills to be added to the property taxes. Tenants and landlords can be held jointly and severally responsible.
