Landfill Supervisor - Dustin Halsne
Dustin Halsne has served in the Solid Waste Division for six years, steadily advancing through the ranks. Starting as an Operator II, he progressed to Operator III before taking on the role of Leachate and Landfill Gas Technician. Now, as Solid Waste Landfill Supervisor, he leads a team of 16 full-time and one seasonal employee.
In this role, Dustin oversees the safe and environmentally compliant operation of the Fargo Landfill, which processes over 220,000 tons of waste annually. He also manages composting efforts and The City’s renewable energies program which are critical components of Fargo’s sustainability initiatives.
Dustin is recognized for his willingness to take on complex, specialized roles and his commitment to continuous growth. His self-starting attitude and dedication have made a lasting impact on the Solid Waste Division and The City’s broader environmental goals.
In recognition of his leadership and contributions, Dustin received the Fargo Rising Star Award, an honor presented at the City Commission meeting and bestowed by the leadership of the Solid Waste Department.
