Please note: You may only do HVAC installation (i.e. furnace, AC, water heater, gas lines, etc.) yourself if the home is owner occupied. All other mechanical work must be done by a licensed contractor.
Before you begin work, fill out and turn in the Mechanical Permit Application available on our Forms & Publications page. Please provide both an email and phone number so we can reach you if necessary.
If a licensed and insured mechanical contractor is doing the work, they should obtain the permit from our office. Be sure to ask your contractor if this has been done.
Mechanical Inspection Requirements
Please call the mechanical inspectors to arrange for an inspection at the following phases of your projects:
- Call for a "rough-in" inspection after all of the duct-work, gas lines, etc. are put in place but before insulation and sheetrock are installed.
- Call for a final inspection after the job is completed.
