Flexible Spending Accounts

The City of Fargo has flexible spending accounts for employees through WEX. The maximum amount an employee is eligible to flex for the 2026 plan year is $3,400 for medical expenses and $5,000 for Dependent Care expenses.

Health Savings Account

Health Savings Account (HSA) will be available to employees who enroll in the BlueSaver Health Plan or the DakotaBlue High Deductible (Essentia Network). The 2026 contribution limits are $4,400 for individual, $8,750 for families.
With an HSA, employees can elect for a limited flexible spending account with a max of $3,400 for the year. These funds can be used on dental and vision expenses only.
New in 2026, City of Fargo will contribute to employees with a Health Savings Account (HSA). The contribution will be $20/month for employee only coverage and $40/month for employee plus dependents or family plans.
