457 Retirement Plans

The City of Fargo offers 457 deferred compensation plans as an additional option for retirement savings. 457 plans are specifically designed for those who work for the state or local governments. A 457 deferred compensation plan can be made as a pre-tax contribution, which reduces taxable income or a Roth contribution, which are after-tax dollars.

Eligible employees can choose to participate in a 457 plan through one of five companies including; Mission Square, Nationwide Retirement Services, Equitable, VOYA, and Orion.
