2021 Approved Budget
The City of Fargo follows a standard budget development process. It includes an update of revenue projections by the Finance Department that is based upon historical trends and changes in our resources. Then, a budget review team consisting of the City Administrator, Assistant City Administrator, Director of Finance and the Mayor meets with department and division heads to discuss the details of each manager's requests for the upcoming year. Upon conclusion of the meetings, the budget review team prioritizes requests based upon the overall needs of the city and makes the final adjustments for funding of certain requests.
The City Commission conducted a public hearing in the City Commission Room, City Hall, 225 4th Street North, Fargo, North Dakota on Monday, September 8 at 5 p.m. The City Commission approved the 2021 budget on Monday, September 21, 2020.
