The City of Fargo Assessor’s Office to Mail Property Value Notices

State law now requires the Assessor’s Office to send a value notice for each parcel in Fargo every year

03/12/2026

The City of Fargo Assessor’s Office will soon be mailing property value notices to all property owners in Fargo, with letters potentially arriving as early as Saturday, March 14.

Due to a recent change in state law, the Assessor’s Office is now required each year to send a value notice for every parcel in Fargo – a total of more than 35,000 properties citywide. In the past, notices were only mailed when a property’s assessed value increased by at least 10 percent and $3,000. Under the new requirement, all property owners will receive a notice showing both the current proposed assessment and the previous year’s assessed value.

Sending a notice to every property owner ensures they have the opportunity to review their property’s proposed value and ask questions if needed. Residents with questions about their property value notice are encouraged to contact the City Assessor’s Office by calling 701.241.1340 or through the Assessor’s Office website.

Property owners can also review property information online at FargoParcels.com, which provides access to parcel details, property characteristics and assessment information.
