Fargo Rising Star Award Honors Library Employee for Her Customer Service and Dedication

The award recognizes exceptional employees who have been with The City of Fargo for seven years or less

06/24/2025

The City of Fargo is undertaking an effort to recognize and highlight the work of City employees. As part of each City Commission meeting, Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney is taking time to spotlight one of The City of Fargo’s departments to honor their dedication, hard work and customer service. In highlighting the achievements of departments, The City of Fargo has instituted an honor for City employees called the Fargo Rising Star Award. The award is for employees who have been with The City for seven years or less and have consistently gone above and beyond in their service to residents and visitors.

On Monday, June 23, the Mayor presented the award to Dani Leapaldt, a librarian who has served The City of Fargo for four years. In 2021, Dani started as a Library Associate at the Main Library and transferred to the Northport Library about a year after that. Last July, she was promoted to Branch Services Librarian for Northport, where she oversees day-to-day operations, managing and training Library Associates.

In selecting Dani for the award, Library leadership cited her high level of customer service when helping patrons find books they will enjoy based on their interests and reading preferences. “Dani has shown great initiative within her positions at the Library, seeking out new roles and more responsibility,” Mayor Mahoney said. “Dani’s dedication to serving the public makes her a Fargo Rising Star.”
