The Fargo Public Library is one of our City’s greatest institutions. It’s a place where kids discover the joy of reading, where job seekers find resources and support, and where lifelong learners can find books that open new worlds of knowledge.
Every day, the Library’s dedicated staff breathes life into our three branch locations: the downtown Main Library, Dr. James Carlson Library and Northport Library. Our librarians spark curiosity, guide discovery and welcome our residents with open arms.
I encourage everyone to get a library card, join the summer reading challenge and take part in the free events at your local library.
During Monday night’s City Commission meeting, we presented the Fargo Rising Star Award to a recipient chosen by the leadership of the Fargo Public Library. The award went to Dani Leapaldt, a librarian who has served The City of Fargo for four years.
Dani started in 2021 as a Library Associate at the Main Library and transferred to the Northport Library about a year after that. Last July, she was promoted to Branch Services Librarian for Northport, where she oversees day-to-day operations, managing and training Library Associates.
Dani provides the highest level of customer service, helping patrons find books they will enjoy, based on their interests and reading preferences. She encourages the use of library materials and services through creative placement and displays at Northport Library. She helps with designing posters, social media graphics and signage for the library and its events.
Dani has shown great initiative within her positions at the Library, seeking out new roles and more responsibility. Congratulations, Dani! Your commitment to public service makes you a Fargo Rising Star.
