Neighborhood Action Plans
The goal of neighborhood planning is to develop better lines of communication between citizens and their government, empowering organized groups of citizens to take an active role in resolving concerns about their neighborhoods.
The City routinely plans for growth and change on the community's fringes; however, it is equally important to plan for growth and change in the city's older, established neighborhoods. The area plan process takes care of planning on the urban growth boundary. The neighborhood planning process will do the same for the interior of the city.
The City would like to have neighborhood plans in place for all of the most mature neighborhoods, which are generally the neighborhoods in the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI) area.
