Mercury Disposal
The City Fargo Household Hazardous Waste Facility can accept mercury in small quantities (220 pounds per month or less) from households and CESQG (conditionally exempt small quantity generators) businesses. The cost for business disposal of mercury is $6.00/lb. Mercury must be in proper containers upon arrival at the facility, or it will not be accepted.
Liquid mercury: Put it in a sturdy, plastic container with a screw cap or with a vapor-tight lid, and place within a sealed plastic bag. Label the bag "Mercury: Hazardous".
Any other mercury-containing items: These items can be brought to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility during normal operating hours.
