Derek Bromac N. loved to race! The Standardbred harness racing horse seemed happiest when flying around the track – usually with his distinct tongue hanging out. Derek eventually became a record-setter as the oldest horse in the country to win a race, but the road to the winner’s circle wasn’t always smooth. Derek’s proud owner, Amber Sawyer, has written a book about his long journey, called Love to Race. On March 10 at 2 p.m., Sawyer will share this special horse's story, speak about the writing process, and explain the sport of harness racing at the Dr. James Carlson Library. Kids of all ages are invited to learn about this very special racehorse. No pre-registration is required. Books will be available for purchase. For details, contact Cindy M. at 701.241.1495.
