Residential New Construction for Owners - Qualifications for Tax Exemption

The City of Fargo Assessor's Office will mail an exemption application to the homeowner after the closing date.

• The building must be completed and owned and occupied for the first time by the person claiming exemption.
• The exemption applies to the first $150,000 of improvement (building) value for the first two full years the property is owned by the applicant.
• Taxes and Specials cannot be delinquent.
