Arts and Culture Commission - November 15, 2023 Minutes
The Regular Meeting of the Arts and Culture Commission of the City of Fargo, North Dakota, was held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall at 4:00 p.m., November 15, 2023.
The Arts and Culture Commissioners present or absent were as follows:
Present: Deb Williams, Tracy Jordre, Jon Offutt, Tracy Walvatne, Monika Browne-Ecker, Danyel Moe
Absent: Joe Williams, Anna Johnson
Item 1: Welcome and Introductions
Chair Jordre called the meeting to order and welcomed Members to the meeting.
Item 2: Welcome new member Danyel Moe
Chair Jordre welcomed new Member Danyel Moe to the Board and introductions were made.
Item 3: Approve Agenda and Minutes
Member Offutt moved the Order of Agenda be approved as presented. Second by Member Browne-Ecker. All members present voted aye and the motion was declared carried.
Member Browne-Ecker moved the Minutes of the May 17, 2023 Arts and Culture Commission meeting be approved. Second by Member Offutt. All Members present voted aye and the motion was declared carried.
Item 4: Summary of Quarter 2 May Work Session
Chair Jordre noted that the Summary of the Quarter 2 May Work Session is located in the packet.
Item 5: The Arts Partnership – City Arts Partnership 2023 grants overview
Planning and Development Director Nicole Crutchfield gave an overview on the City Arts Partnership 2023 grants.
Item 6: Staff Report – Project Updates
Ms. Crutchfield spoke on the communications project and the 2024 budget.
Planning Coordinator Maegin Elshaug shared the status of various Public Art Projects and presented two videos on recent art projects.
Item 7: Calendar meetings for 2024
Chair Jordre noted the meeting dates for 2024 can be found in the packet.
Item 8: Announcements
Member Browne-Ecker announced that Decked! will be playing at Theatre B from November 24 to December 17.
Member Offutt shared that Arts for the Holidays will be at the Fargo Civic Center December 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ms. Crutchfield noted that the Fargo Growth Plan is in development and the public online survey closes on November 17.
