The Red River Valley SWAT Team will be conducting scheduled training exercises on Thursday, May 8, in the following locations:
• 600 block of 23rd Street North from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
• 600 block of 28th Street South from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
SWAT Team members may be seen carrying firearms and moving around the exterior of buildings. While no live rounds will be used, the public may hear loud noises and verbal commands as part of the training. Additionally, there will be several SWAT vehicles in the area with activated emergency lights.
Residents and visitors should be aware that this is a planned exercise and there is no threat to public safety. Anyone with concerns can contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center by calling 701.451.7660 and asking to speak with one of the training facilitators at the training site.
This is a closed training exercise and is not open to members of the media or the general public.
