WHEREAS, Small businesses are the driving force of the American economy and the foundation of the nation's prosperity, built on the principles of hard work and the American dream; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses constitute more than 99 percent of private employers and generate almost two-thirds of new jobs in the U.S., boosting opportunity and local economies nationwide; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses across all sectors – from agriculture to manufacturing to technology – are the key drivers of American innovation and the producers of goods that ensure the nation's strength, competitiveness and security; and
WHEREAS, Despite facing unprecedented recent challenges, small business owners have shown resilience and continued their commitment to serving American communities; and
WHEREAS, Regardless of current challenges, the enduring American entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with sensible pro-growth policies prioritizing people, workers and job creators, signals a promising new era for small businesses; and
WHEREAS, Fargo, North Dakota, aligns with the Administration's focus on reducing regulations, maintaining low taxes and supporting hardworking local entrepreneurs who are essential to the economy; and
WHEREAS, , Since 1963, the President of the United States has proclaimed National Small Business Week to recognize the crucial role of small businesses in job creation, economic growth and community stability.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dr. Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of Fargo, North Dakota do hereby proclaim May 4-10, 2025 to be
NATIONAL SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
and encourage all citizens to support small businesses and celebrate their many achievements.
