Mayoral Proclamation - Earth Week 04.23.25

The City of Fargo and surrounding metro stand together in support of Earth Week.

WHEREAS, The cities of Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead and Dilworth are committed to preserving our natural resources and recognize the importance of increasing community awareness of the vital role our citizens play in this endeavor; and

WHEREAS, Earth Week is a time to come together as one community and celebrate the efforts of young and old alike who strive to keep our community clean for the benefit of today and for generations to come; and

WHEREAS, During Earth Week and every week, we urge residents to “Learn Green. Live Green.” by:

CONSERVING natural resources by taking public transportation or carpooling, turning off the lights when you leave a room, weatherproofing your home, ensuring sprinklers are used sparingly.

PRESERVING natural resources by sharing your newspaper with a neighbor, participating in City recycling programs and other community events.

COMMITTING to “closing the loop” in the recycling process by buying recycled-content products.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, Tim Mahoney, Mayor of Fargo, Bernie Dardis, Mayor of West Fargo, Shelly Carlson, Mayor of Moorhead and Chad Carlson, Mayor of Dilworth do hereby proclaim April 20 through the 26, 2025 as:

EARTH WEEK

in our cities and encourage the citizens of Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead and Dilworth to take this opportunity to renew their commitment to “Learn Green. Live Green.” by preserving our earth and its natural resources and by making every day Earth Day.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have set our hands and caused the official seals of the cities of Fargo and West Fargo, state of North Dakota; and the cities of Moorhead and Dilworth, state of Minnesota, to be affixed this 22nd day of April 2025.
