Fargo Fire Department Extinguishes House Fire at 5533 20th Street South

The house sustained significant damage; no injuries were reported

The Fargo Fire Department was dispatched at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, to a report of smoke coming from the back side of a house at 5533 20th Street South.

Upon arrival, fire crews found a significant amount of smoke coming from the house and determined there was a fire inside the structure. The house was locked and appeared unoccupied. Crews forced entry and advanced to the second floor where they located the fire. Crews extinguished the fire within about 10 minutes of arrival.

Firefighters confirmed that no one was home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The house sustained significant fire damage. A cost estimate of the damage is not yet available. The fire displaced the residents of the home. At this time, the fire appears to be accidental in nature; the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
