The City of Fargo Announces Finalists in "Name a Snow Plow" Contest

Residents can vote for their favorite plow names now through Monday, January 27

01/17/2025 7:00 p.m.

The City of Fargo asked residents to share their most creative names for Fargo’s snow plows, and they came through with 649 entries. The Public Works and Engineering Departments, along with Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney and Deputy Mayor Denise Kolpack, chose 10 finalists based on creativity, originality and overall appeal. Names with Fargo or North Dakota themes earned extra points. If a name was submitted multiple times, the first entry received was considered. Individuals whose submissions have advanced to the finalist round have been notified.

The following names are finalists:
• Betty Whiteout
• Blader Tot Hotdish
• BoomChickaPlowPlow
• Buzz Iceclear
• Da Snow Chipper
• Far-go Your Snow
• Fargo Blizzard Buster
• Plowabunga
• Teddy Snowsevelt
• Wheeler Snow Peeler

Residents are encouraged to vote for their favorite plow names online. Voting will be open now through Monday, January 27, at 11:59 p.m. The top five names will be proudly displayed on our plows this winter. Individuals who submitted winning names will receive Fargo gear and will be featured in a video shared on the City’s social media channels.
