As winter weather allows, City of Fargo crews will be collecting used Christmas trees in the first half of January, ending on Friday, January 17. For collection beyond that date, fees may apply. Residents should place trees on the boulevard by 7 a.m. on their scheduled garbage day.
Residents are asked to follow these guidelines:
• Trees must be placed on the boulevard for collection (not in alley).
• Remove all lights, ornaments, stands or plastic bags.
• No artificial trees will be collected.
Additionally, Fargo residents may haul brush, logs up to 10 inches in diameter and other tree debris to the Fargo Landfill at no charge. The landfill is located at 4501 7th Ave. N. and is open year-round. The operating hours for the landfill are 7:15 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:15 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. The landfill will be closed Wednesday, January 1, for the New Year’s Day holiday. Proof of residency is required to utilize landfill services.
