And finally, the grand opening ceremony at Fire Station 8 was held last week and as of today, the station is officially up and running and accepting calls for service. The project broke ground on June 20, 2023, and was expected to cost 5.3 million dollars. The station only took 16 months to build and also came in under budget. This new station was designed with the firefighter’s health and safety in mind by adding hot, warm and cold zones to help make their working and living quarters more comfortable. We look forward to seeing the benefits of this station moving forward.
