The Fargo Public Library will host a four-part film series starting Sunday, Nov. 3, at the downtown Main Library featuring iconic 1970s disaster movies, a film genre that gave viewers an adrenaline rush from the safety of their seats. Local film critic Matt Olien has selected the films featured in this series and will introduce each movie and lead a brief discussion after the screenings. All films begin at 2 p.m. and are approximately 120 minutes long. Dates and film titles are:
• Nov. 3 – Airport (1970, G)
• Nov. 10 – The Poseidon Adventure (1972, PG)
• Nov. 24 – The Towering Inferno (1974, PG)
• Dec. 1 – Airport 1975 (1974, PG)
