The Fargo Fire Department will host a grand opening ceremony for its new Fire Station 8 on Wednesday, October 23, at 1 p.m. at 6617 33rd St. S. in Fargo. Fire Chief Steve Dirksen, Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney and Deputy Mayor Denise Kolpack, the City Commission’s liaison to the Fire Department, are anticipated to speak. The members of the City Commission have been invited to attend so a quorum may be present.
Also on Wednesday, October 23, community members are invited to an open house at Fire Station 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Station 8 will serve residents and businesses in the growing neighborhoods of south Fargo. Firefighters will begin operating the station on Monday, October 28.
