The first draft of the Fargo Growth Plan 2024 is available for review at FargoGrowthPlan.org

Residents are encouraged to volunteer this summer at the Carlson Library Learning Garden plots. Sessions are weekly at 10 a.m. on Thursday mornings, weather permitting, and all ages are welcome to join in.

A Jigsaw Puzzle Social and Swap will be June 15 at the Downtown Library starting at 9 a.m.

The annual Summer Reading Challenge for all age has started with more than 1,600 readers of all ages already registered. “Adventure Begins at Your Library” is the theme this year and participants are encouraged to read daily to complete challenges, earn badges and win prizes.

The first draft of the Fargo Growth Plan 2024 is available for review at FargoGrowthPlan.org. The site also contains a link to an online form to share comments, suggestions and edits as well as previous project processes, documents and resources. The comment period is open until June 21. This first draft is the product of community feedback, open houses, community conversations and stakeholder guidance and lays out a plan for how and where Fargo should grow.

The 5th Annual Fargo Juneteenth celebration, titled “Black to the Future Part 2," will be June 15 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Broadway Square. The event, which is being organized by Fred's Dissonance in collaboration with the City of Fargo and North Dakota State University, commemorates the emancipation of African Americans and envisions a future rooted in unity and progress. Admission is free and the afternoon will include an art exhibition showcasing historical documents, newspapers and media clippings, there will be live performances, a hair show celebrating African American beauty, children’s book readings, bouncy houses and food.

On May 30, we hosted our annual employee recognition event where 136 employees with a combined 1,820 years of public service were honored. We want to thank every member of Team Fargo for their passion and dedication every day for making us the regional leader.
