Tobacco compliance checks were performed in Cass County on March 14. In total, 17 businesses were checked and 14 passed, resulting in an 82% compliance rate.
Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) appreciates the cooperation of the business communities in Cass County. Several times per year, FCPH partners with local law enforcement agencies to carry out tobacco compliance checks in Fargo, West Fargo, and Cass County. The intent of the checks is to ensure tobacco retailers are not selling any tobacco to people under the age of twenty-one. Licensed tobacco retailers are encouraged to periodically review City Ordinances and state laws related to sale of tobacco products and to include this important information in training for new employees.

• Petro Serve USA - 102 Langer Avenue South, Casselton – first fail in one year
• Pit 88 - 24 Woodard Avenue South, Amenia – first fail in one year
• City View Fuel - 13635 54th Street Southeast, Enderlin – first fail in one year
Penalties in Cass County:
• A tobacco compliance failure in Cass County is considered an infraction and the penalty is imposed by the court.
