The Fargo Fire Department Releases Update on January 28 Apartment Fire

One person impacted by the fire has died

Fargo firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 3161 32nd Street South in Fargo at 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, January 28.

Fire crews found a fire victim, removed her from the apartment and transferred her to the care of Sanford Ambulance. Sanford Ambulance transported the victim to a local medical facility, and she was later transferred to a regional medical facility for additional care.

The fire victim, Connie M. Frodge, 65, died on February 3. The manner and cause of death are being determined by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The fire started in a bedroom within the apartment unit and was caused by improperly discarded smoking materials. No other information is available for release at this time.
