City of Fargo-Owned Utility Boxes Wrapped with Original Art Produced by Fargo Public School Students

Student art was chosen by an art educator within Fargo Public Schools

06/08/2023

Five City of Fargo-owned utility boxes have been wrapped with original art produced by Fargo Public School students. The utility box art project was a collaboration between the City, the Fargo Arts and Culture Commission, Fargo Public Schools, The Arts Partnership, Downtown Community Partnership and Business Improvement District.

The creation of the art was completed in 2022 with the installation occurring in 2023. The art was installed on the boxes by Office Sign Company and deliberately planned for exhibition adjacent to the student artist’s school to reflect the incredible talent within the Fargo Public School system.

Student art was chosen by an art educator within Fargo Public Schools. It was then reviewed by the Fargo Arts and Culture Commission before ultimate approval granted by the Fargo City Commission. The art is anticipated to be prominently displayed for the next several years as part of the City’s ongoing effort to integrate art into neighborhoods through programs such as the utility box wrapping initiative.

The locations of the utility boxes are as follows:
