WHEREAS, The Fargo South/Shanley Boys Hockey team has been crowned the 2023 Boys State Hockey Champion following a triple overtime win against Grand Forks Red River; and
WHEREAS, Fargo South/Shanley finished the season 22-5-0; and
WHEREAS, this championship is the first for Fargo South/Shanley as a co-op program; and
WHEREAS, the players, coaches, parents and fans all play a contributing role in the team’s success; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of this 2023 Boys State Hockey Champion team does not go unnoticed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Dr. Timothy J. Mahoney,
Mayor of The City of Fargo, North Dakota, do hereby proclaim March 6, 2023, to be
FARGO/SOUTH SHANLEY HOCKEY DAY
in The City of Fargo and encourage all citizens to share in the pride of the success of this team and their amazing season.
