Every three years, The City of Fargo features new art on the illuminated panels on both the exterior and the interior of the Commission Chambers within City Hall. We are proud to showcase the new pieces of art in those spaces. Art proposals were solicited through an RFP by The City’s Arts & Culture Commission in May, resulting in 29 eligible proposals. A five-person panel composed of artists and arts advocates reviewed the proposals. The City awarded a contract for the exterior art to Brett Lysne for his work representing the theme of Fargo: Past, Present and Future. The City awarded a contract to Troy Becker for his work representing the themes of Recreation, Arts & Entertainment, Agriculture and the City of Parks for incorporation into the interior of the City Commission Chambers. The exterior and interior panels were installed within the last week by Office Sign Company and Custom Graphics. Let’s now enjoy this video which showcases the installation process.

Last Wednesday, New York Yankee Aaron Judge tied Roger Maris’ for the American League’s single-season home run record. Members of the Maris Family were in attendance as Judge joined MLB home run royalty. I’m incredibly proud that a panel in our Commission Chambers is now featuring Roger for all to see.
