September is Library Card Sign-Up Month and--to celebrate--the Fargo Public Library has new limited edition library cards available. Residents are invited to apply for a library card and receive one of the new designs while supplies last. Current library card holders are welcome to replace their existing card with one of the new designs. The limited-edition card designs were created by area artists of all ages who were the selected as winners of the “Library Card Design Contest” during the month of April.

The Fargo Fire Department will compete against the Fargo Police Department in the 2nd annual “Battle of the Badges Blood Drive” on Thursday, September 29. This friendly competition between the two departments will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. at the American Red Cross Fargo office. Individuals donating in honor of their favorite first responder department will receive a “Battle of the Badges Blood Drive” t-shirt while supplies last.

The Fargo Police Department (FPD) is actively seeking recruits for Fargo Police Academy Class Four, which begins on Monday, January 9, 2023. The Fargo Police Academy is a 13-week academy certified by the North Dakota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board. To learn more, visit JoinFargoPD.com.

For tonight’s video, we will showcase Fargo Police Officer Elliott Olerud's graduation from K9 training in southeast Minnesota--along with his new K9 partner, Thor. This year, Officer Olerud and K9 Thor engaged in a rigorous training course which lasted 40 hours per week for the duration of 13 weeks. The new partners developed an unbreakable bond as they successfully completed drug detection and apprehension trainings. This video takes you behind the scenes and introduces K9 Thor and Officer Olerud as the newest public safety duo in Fargo. Congrats to Officer Elliott and Thor on their graduation!
