PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Village Family Service Center is a youth empowerment organization that enables life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and promise of youth in our community; and

WHEREAS, Investing in young people's futures pays off with a social return on investment of $18-to-$1 through improved economic, health and social outcomes for young people with mentors; and
-
WHEREAS, By changing the course of young lives, we shape our community’s social and economic future; and
-
WHEREAS, Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Village Family Service Center has created and supported over 100 matches each year by partnering with parents/guardians, volunteers and others in the community to help youth achieve higher aspirations, greater confidence, better relationships, avoidance of risky behavior and educational success; and
-
WHEREAS, The agency’s goal is to encourage more volunteers to join its mentoring movement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Dr. Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of the City of Fargo, North Dakota, do hereby proclaim September 2021 to be Big Brothers Big Sisters Month in the City of Fargo, North Dakota and encourage everyone to visit www.BBBSFargo.org to learn more about how to be involved in igniting the potential of youth in our community.
