On Tuesday, September 22, the Fargo Police Department Narcotics Unit, Cass County Drug Task Force and the Grand Forks Narcotics Task Force served several search warrants in Fargo, ND as part of an ongoing joint drug investigation. Three separate search warrants were conducted at two residences and a local hotel. As a result of the search warrants, detectives seized approximately 1,400 M30 Fentanyl pills, nearly two ounces of Heroin, a few grams of Methamphetamine, a Glock 9mm pistol, $51,785 in cash, and a small amount of Marijuana.

Several individuals are currently facing potential state and federal charges related to this investigation, and additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.

The Red River Valley SWAT Team was used to assist with the service of one of the search warrants at 901 42nd Street South. The use of the SWAT Team was requested due to the likelihood of violence from a suspect involved. The SWAT Team is utilized based on factors related to suspects and their criminal history, as well as current information regarding threats to the public and law enforcement from suspects. The evidence being sought at a search warrant has no bearing on whether the SWAT Team is utilized or not. The use of the SWAT Team helped to resolve the situation peacefully and without incident.

The seizure of the M30 Fentanyl pills is significant, as they have been linked to several recent overdoses in which these pills are believed to have been used. The overdoses reported in Fargo are nearing the levels from 2016 in which we saw a drastic increase in overdoses and deaths in our area. The investigation into this drug trafficking organization is still ongoing, and no further information about the investigation will be released at this time.
