Library Director Tim Dirks wants the public to know that “We are excited to reopen our locations to the residents of Fargo. We ask library visitors to help us stay open by observing social distancing and wearing a face covering when at any of our locations. Thank you so much for your patience during this unprecedented situation.”
To keep patrons and staff as safe as possible, library buildings have been adapted to help minimize the risk of exposure to potential illness. Plexiglas screens have been installed at all service desks along with 6-feet distancing floor markers. Also, high-touch surface areas will be cleaned and disinfected frequently, and hand sanitizer and wipes will be available for public use.
In order to practice proper social distancing and with the safety of patrons in mind, some technology services will be limited with a reduced number public internet stations available and daily computer usage limited to two hours per person per day. Seating is also limited for the time being at all library locations. In addition, all meeting rooms, conference rooms, study rooms and the Wiggle Room remain closed and no onsite library programming is scheduled until further notice. Curbside pick-up services will be discontinued when the library reopens.
