WHEREAS, Craig Whitney served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Craig had an incredible impact on the organization, its members and the community; and
-
WHEREAS, Craig was devoted to The Chamber and was always promoting and advocating for the region, working tirelessly to bring the community together; and
-
WHEREAS, Before arriving in Fargo-Moorhead, Craig worked for the presidential campaign of George H. W. Bush and served as Assistant and Director of Advance for Vice President Dan Quayle and as Quayle's Chief Staff at Cerberus Capital Management; and
-
WHEREAS, Under his leadership, The Chamber brought together a coalition of more than 2,000 public, private and nonprofit groups due to his dedication to serving members and representing business; and
-
WHEREAS, Country and community were Craig's focus and his family was his North Star, which steered Craig's dedication to The Chamber and its members; and
-
WHEREAS, Craig Whitney passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That Dr. Timothy J Mahoney, Mayor of the City of Fargo, Bernie Dardis, Mayor of the City of West Fargo, Johnathan Judd, Mayor of the City of the Moorhead, and Chad Olson, Mayor of the City of Dilworth, do hereby proclaim Friday, December 20, 2019 to be
CRAIG WHITNEY DAY
in the Cities of Fargo, North Dakota, West Fargo, North Dakota, Moorhead, Minnesota and Dilworth, Minnesota.
