For the 2026 growing season, the Fargo Public Library is hosting a Planting Day event starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at the Library Learning Gardens at the Dr. James Carlson Library, 2801 32nd Ave. S. Growing Together, a local community garden group, and the library are partnering to plant, maintain and harvest the library’s garden plots. No gardening experience is necessary, and all ages are invited to help in getting the gardens ready and planted for the season. Registration is required to participate; register online or email NKJones@fargolibrary.org.
Additionally, weekly volunteer sessions for the library gardens will continue Thursdays at 10 a.m. throughout the summer and early fall, starting June 11. No registration is required for the weekly sessions. All ages are welcome to volunteer, and no gardening experience is necessary. These sessions will be a great way to be active while learning about gardening.
