Fargo Fire Department to Host Public Safety Seminar on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives and Human Trafficking

Training event aims to equip local first responders with critical awareness and response strategies

The Fargo Fire Department will host a specialized training seminar focused on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) and human trafficking, providing public safety personnel in the Fargo-Moorhead metro area with vital tools and knowledge to better serve vulnerable populations.

The seminar will take place on Monday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, 4630 15th Ave. N. in Fargo. Members of the media are welcome to attend and cover the event. Opportunities for interviews and additional information will be available on-site.

This important training will address MMIR cases and human trafficking, offering insights into identification, prevention and coordinated response efforts. The seminar is designed to strengthen collaboration among emergency personnel and community partners while enhancing cultural awareness and sensitivity. First responders, law enforcement personnel and community stakeholders have been invited to participate.
