FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – In partnership with Fargo Public Schools and the Fargo Police Foundation, The Fargo Police Department is inviting the community to help select two winning designs in the School Resource Officer squad car design contest, with public voting now open across the department’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Voting will remain open through 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 23.
Launched earlier this year, the contest invited middle and high school students to create custom squad car wrap designs. Students were encouraged to incorporate original artwork while preserving core department elements.
Submissions were evaluated by a panel that included school administrators, School Resource Officers, Fargo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Cory Steiner and Fargo Police executive staff.
Four students were selected as finalists and their designs have been advanced for public voting:
High School Division:
• Kaj from Davies High School
• Neila from Fargo South High School
Middle School Division:
• Vaughn from Carl Ben Eielson Middle School
• Lordes from Discovery Middle School
In each division, the design that receives the highest number of reactions or votes across all social media platforms will be selected as the winner. The winners will be notified and announced on Friday, April 24.
The two winning designs, one from a middle school and one from a high school, will be professionally produced and applied to two Fargo Police Department School Resource Officer squad cars for the 2026-2027 school year. The project is fully funded by the Fargo Police Foundation, with no taxpayer dollars being utilized.
The Fargo Police Department encourages residents to participate in the voting process and recognize the creativity and effort of Fargo’s student artists.
