Spring is headed our way and the library's spring seed library is back for 2026. Starting Monday, March 23, residents are encouraged to try out some seeds for free. Perfect for beginner and seasoned gardeners, the seed library is free and will be available to residents at the Main Library and Dr. James Carlson Library locations while supplies last (limit of five seed packets per visit per household). The seed library is a collection of vegetable, herb, and flower seeds available to residents to plant and grow at home. No checkout is required for the seed library. For more information about the seed library, contact Lori at 701.476.5977, or call the Main Library Circulation Desk at 701.241.1472, or the Dr. James Carlson Library at 701.476.4040.

Special thanks to the NDSU Extension's Master Gardener Program for making this seed library possible and to Sanford Health for supporting the Master Gardener Program Seed Library with a “Grow the Good” grant.

Also, gardeners are asked to show what they grow by tagging the library on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #FPLSeeds.
