FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – At the City Commission meeting on Monday, March 16, Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibolski presented The Fargo Police Department’s 2025 Annual Report, outlining key accomplishments, emerging challenges and the department’s continued commitment to public safety.
During the presentation, Chief Zibolski provided an overview of the department’s work over the past year and highlighted several areas where strategic investments, partnerships and proactive policing efforts have made a measurable impact.
One of the most notable trends reflected in the report is a continued reduction in overall crime in Fargo. In 2025, total reported crime declined 10% compared to 2024, building on the 6.8% decrease recorded between 2023 and 2024. This downward trend reflects a combination of focused enforcement efforts, data-driven strategies and strong collaboration with community partners.
The report also highlights several initiatives and accomplishments across the department, including:
• The work of the Traffic Safety Team, which has focused on addressing dangerous driving behaviors and improving roadway safety through targeted enforcement and education.
• Expanded officer wellness initiatives, including the creation of the department’s Wellness Unit, designed to provide dedicated resources that support the physical and mental well-being of Fargo Police personnel.
• The continued growth and impact of the department’s Real-Time Crime Center, which leverages technology and data to help officers solve crimes more quickly and prevent incidents from occurring.
• Support from the Fargo Police Foundation, whose partnerships with the department help fund equipment, technology and initiatives that enhance public safety.
• Community Beat Meetings, which provide residents with direct opportunities to connect with officers, discuss neighborhood concerns and build stronger relationships between police and the community.
• Recognition of the work of the department’s sworn officers and civilian professionals, whose service continues to support The Fargo Police Department’s 150-year legacy of serving as guardians of the Fargo community.
Chief Zibolski, who will retire later this month after more than five years leading the department, reflected on both the progress made and the future of the agency.
“This report reflects the dedication, professionalism and resilience of every member of The Fargo Police Department, both sworn and civilian,” said Chief Zibolski. “The progress we’re seeing in crime reduction, community engagement and officer wellness is the result of a team that cares deeply about the people we serve. As I prepare to retire later this month, I’m incredibly proud of the work this department has accomplished together. Just as importantly, I’m confident The Fargo Police Department is well positioned for the future, with talented people, strong leadership and a continued commitment to innovation and service.”
