Fargo and our neighboring communities celebrated the Metro Fire Academy Graduation at Fargo City Hall on Friday, Dec. 5. The ceremony honored the newest recruits who will serve Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo and marked the conclusion of a demanding journey that required grit, discipline and heart from every recruit to earn their badge.

The Metro Fire Academy is a rare collaboration that crosses city, state and county lines and reflects a level of trust and camaraderie between fire departments in the F-M metro area. The Red River Regional Dispatch Center already serves all three cities, and bringing our fire departments together for a joint academy strengthens our efforts in serving the region as partners. It ensures consistent training across the metro area, supports strong response times and allows departments to save money by sharing resources.

The latest recruits came to the academy from diverse backgrounds and experiences, yet they all shared a strong work ethic and commitment to serving the metro region with professionalism and pride.

Fargo is grateful for the dedication all the recruits showed during their 18 weeks of training. We are proud to welcome Metro Fire Academy Class XIII into their career in fire service.
