Adult male received a gunshot wound to the foot that was not life-threatening

11/16/2025

On Sunday, November 16, at approximately 1:42 a.m., Fargo Police officers responded to the 1100 block of 3rd Street North for a report of gunshots. There were several callers who heard the shots in the area, and witnesses described several people in dark clothing running from the scene, and a dark colored vehicle that ran a stop sign in the area.

A short time later, an officer located a black Chevrolet Impala in the 400 block of NP Avenue matching the description and made a traffic stop. Several juveniles were in the vehicle, and during the investigation, several firearms were found in the vehicle and seized. Two 17-year-old males and one 16-year-old male who were in the vehicle were taken to detention for unlawful possession of handguns. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted with detaining individuals during the traffic stop.

Several spent shell casings were located at the scene of the shooting, and officers canvassed the area in an attempt to locate further evidence and witnesses and identify if there were any potential victims. At approximately 2:18 a.m., a local medical facility notified the Red River Regional Dispatch Center that an adult male had just come in with a gunshot wound to the foot that was not life-threatening. Officers responded to interview the victim and gather additional information.

The investigation is ongoing at this time, and currently it is unclear what led to the shooting. To avoid jeopardizing the investigation, no additional information is being released at this time.
