The City of Fargo is dedicated to celebrating the people who strengthen our community each and every day. During the month of October, we recognized two meaningful events that reflect that mission – the celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day and the retirement of City Auditor Steve Sprague.
On Monday, October 13, the Fargo Native American Commission and the Indigenous Association honored the heritage, leadership and ongoing contributions of Indigenous Peoples across our region. The breakfast event featured remarks from Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney and the recognition of Christy Goulet, recipient of the 2025 Gladys Ray Award, for her dedication, advocacy and service.
During the October 27, Fargo City Commission meeting, Fargo Commissioners and City staff celebrated the upcoming retirement of City Auditor Steve Sprague, who is concluding nearly 26 years of dedicated public service on November 7, 2025. Steve has been known for his approachable leadership and his unwavering commitment to the residents of Fargo. Steve has built a legacy of professionalism, collaboration and an Auditor's Office that is set up for success into the future.
