Fargo Public Library to Host Presentation of Norway’s National Costumes on October 8, at the Main Library

The Fargo Public Library will host a special presentation featuring Norway’s National Costumes by Dr. Jonna Gjevre on Wednesday, Oct. 8, starting at 6 p.m. at the downtown Main Library as part of the 2025 One Book, One Community reading program.

Dr. Gjevre, an author and scholar whose recent work focuses on folk traditions and cultural heritage, will explore the history of bunads and folkedrakt in Norway and North America. Dr. Gjevre will wear her own bunad and will have accessories, embroidery, beadwork and fabric samples on display. All ages are welcome to this free event. Fargo Public Library events are free and open to the public; adults must accompany children ages 9 and younger.
