The Metro Street Crimes Unit, in conjunction with the West Fargo Police Department, has arrested Braden Poitra for multiple outstanding warrants, including Attempted Murder, Robbery, Reckless Endangerment with a Firearm and Aggravated Assault, in connection with a shooting incident in Fargo on September 17. The incident left one individual with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening.
The arrest of Poitra occurred at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, in the 200 block of 9 1⁄2 Avenue West in West Fargo during a joint operation between the West Fargo Police Department and Metro Street Crimes Unit. Poitra, a 24-year-old Moorhead resident, was arrested without incident and transported to the Cass County Jail.
The Fargo Police Department is still seeking information on the location of Dennis Salinas Jr., the other suspect in the September 17 shooting incident. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact The Fargo Police Department at 701.451.7660 or by texting keyword FARGOPD and the tip to 847411. Salinas is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach or attempt to apprehend him. Instead, call police (911) immediately and provide as much detail as possible — including location, direction of travel, clothing description or anyone he may be with.
