Fargo Public Library to Host Book Swap on Saturday, September 27

The community event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Main Library

09/23/2025 9:00 a.m.

Looking to clear space on your shelves or refresh your reading stack for free? The Fargo Public Library is hosting its first-ever Book Swap on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the downtown Main Library, 101 4th St. N.

Participants are encouraged to drop off their gently used books ahead of time, or they may bring them on the day of the event. Attend the swap to browse the collection and take home something “new to you.” The swap is open to everyone from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; however, those who donate items in advance will receive an early entry ticket for 10 a.m. Participants can contribute up to 10 books – fiction, nonfiction, adult, teen and children’s books are all welcome as long as they are clean and in good condition (no damaged books or textbooks, please). In return, you can choose a similar number of new reads to take home. Even if attendees do not have any books to swap, everyone will go home with a book or two for attending. Any books that are left after the swap will be donated to the Friends of the Fargo Public Library. No registration is required for this event. For more information, contact Megan at 701.241.1492 or MLass@fargolibrary.org.

Fargo Public Library events are free and open to the public; adults must accompany children ages 9 and younger.
