The City of Fargo honors and appreciates the indispensable contributions of healthcare security and safety professionals during this week of recognition and every day of the year.

WHEREAS, Healthcare security and safety employees are an indispensable and crucial part of North Dakota's healthcare system, maintaining the highest standards of quality and service and ensuring superior protection for facilities, staff, patients and visitors; and

WHEREAS,, The professionalism, courage and resilience demonstrated by these dedicated professionals are essential in addressing the diverse and evolving security needs of North Dakota's population; and

WHEREAS,, The need for healthcare security and safety services continues to grow due to increasing violence against healthcare professionals, rising criminal activity within healthcare settings and the expanding use of healthcare facilities by our aging population; and

WHEREAS,, Healthcare security and safety professionals exemplify excellence in leadership and protective care, showing unwavering commitment, diligence and compassion in their vital role of safeguarding the quality and safety of healthcare.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Dr. Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of the City of Fargo, North Dakota, do hereby proclaim October 12-18, 2025 to be

HEALTHCARE SECURITY AND SAFETY WEEK

in the City of Fargo and I urge all citizens to recognize and appreciate the indispensable role of healthcare security and safety employees, whose courage and professionalism are vital for protecting our healthcare system, staff, patients and visitors.
