Tobacco compliance checks were performed in Cass County on Thursday, August 21, 2025. In total, 10 businesses were checked and eight passed, resulting in an 80% compliance rate.
Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) appreciates the cooperation of the business communities across Cass County. Several times per year, FCPH partners with local law enforcement agencies to carry out tobacco compliance checks in Fargo, West Fargo, and Cass County. The intent of the checks is to ensure tobacco retailers are not selling any tobacco products to minors. Licensed tobacco retailers are encouraged to periodically review local ordinances and state laws related to the sale of tobacco products and to include this important information in training for new employees.

• Pit 88 – 224 Woodard Avenue South, Amenia, ND 58004 – first fail in one year
• Arthur Cenex – 510 Highway 18, Arthur, ND 58006 – first fail in one year
Penalties in Cass County:
• A tobacco compliance failure in Cass County is considered an infraction and the penalty is imposed by the court.
