FPD to address incident and release suspect information

08/06/2025

UPDATE:
The Fargo Police Department, along with the Moorhead Police Department and Metro Area Street Crimes Unit, arrested Tabias Jamal Walker in Moorhead on Sunday, August 10.

Walker, a 19-year-old with no permanent address, was arrested for Aggravated Assault in connection to the assault that occurred on August 3 in the 300 block of Broadway North.

Walker (pictured on the left of the FPD’s attempt-to-identify social media post) is currently in custody at the Clay County Jail. The case is being referred to the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office for formal charges and extradition.

The second person shown in the FPD’s post is no longer considered a suspect, and the FPD no longer needs the public’s assistance in identifying them.

The victim remains in critical condition at a local medical facility.

The Fargo Police Department (FPD) will hold a press conference 11:30 a.m. today (Aug. 6, 2025) in Gateway Commons at FPD Headquarters (105 25th St. N.) to provide information regarding a serious assault that occurred in downtown Fargo in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 3.

During the initial response to two separate homicide investigations on Sunday, The Fargo Police Department requested mutual aid from partner law enforcement agencies to handle other calls for service. During that time, a call for service was received at 3:07 a.m., involving an aggravated assault in 300 block of Broadway North. This call was initially handled by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. The incident resulted in life-threatening injuries to one person, who remains in critical condition at a local health care facility.

The Fargo Police Department was not aware of this assault until recently. The FPD’s Criminal Investigation Division is now actively investigating this incident and will provide an update.

The press conference will be broadcast and livestreamed across the social media platforms of The Fargo Police Department and The City of Fargo, as well as The City’s access channels and TVFargo.com.
